Ulcerative Colitis Diary: Week Twelve On Prednisolone

Posted by DeadAnarchistPhil on April 13, 2011

Green = How well I feel 1 being the best and 10 being the worse.

Blue = Depression Caused by the UC directly. Again, on a scale as above.

Treatment for: Ulcerative Colitis.

Medication, Direction and Course as follows:

Prednisolone : Take four One 5mg Tablet(s) daily for four weeks [Now six weeks], then cut down by one tablet a week each week over the next four [Now three] weeks. Untill I see the specialists in April 2011.

Day 78 Tue 5th April 2011: Still have the headache from exercising on Monday, I’ve had it all night, I couldn’t sleep because of it. I slept two hours then had to get up and hold a hot-water bottle to the area. It got rid of it eventually, went to bed at 6am Wed 6th

Never went to the toilet this day. (2/10) (2/10)

Day 79Wed 6th April 2011: Didn’t have a headache when I woke up but developed it when I started cleaning up.

Did some more light exercise today, some squats and walking briskly on the treadmill, it was a little easier, though I need to improve my stamina and cardio over the next few months. If I do it slow I lower the risk of making myself ill and pulling muscles. Still feel like my back’s going to give in though.

Exercise made the headache work!

Never went to the toilet this day.(1/10) (2/10)

Day 80 Thu 7th April 2011: Wonky sleeping pattern the most annoying thing today.

Haven’t been to the toilet today.(1/10) (2/10)

Day 81 Fri 8th April 2011: Went to the toilet today, everything was normal. My sleeping pattern is still well and truly fucked. The closer I get to the course and study time the worse it gets! Which is just what I feared would happen.

I didn’t do exercise, couldn’t muster the, I can’t even think of the word!!(1/10) (1/10)

Day 82 Sat 9th April 2011: Toilet visit was normal.

My sleeping pattern being tits up is not helping me. Sleepin’ odd times does zero for motivation and developing a regime to do exercise, diet, DIY, Gardening and, in the future, study!

My pattern is so fucked up now that I’m sleeping a few hours then waking up and staying awake for six! Which is in contrast to a few days earlier when I was sleeping a lot and feeling tired all the time. Well, I still feel tired a lot, but it’s not as bad. Maybe it’s because I’m up at night with no one else about.(1/10) (1/10)

Day 83 Sun 10th April 2011: Toilet visit was normal. Motivation still low. (1/10) (1/10)

Day 84 Mon 11th April 2011: No toilet visit today.

Did a lot of garden work, had to force myself to do it while fighting tiredness. I’d been up since 3am in the morning and didn’t get to sleep untill gone 12:30am Tuesday morning. I still didn’t have a good sleep. (1/10) (1/10)

nothing like a bit… of gardening is there?

    Androgoth ; )

    • Hey Andro, just been to your place now. 🙂

I know you’ve got some smart-arsed comemnts in the bag, just deliver them if and when you have the time, OK? 🙂

I haven’t planted my seeds yet, still resting after Monday’s EPIC clean-up and sorting!

You are right, nowt like a bit of gardening, just wish I had some privacy to do it in, then I’d enjoy it a lot more.

You have a good weekend also, Man! 🙂

Heeeeeeey Phil!! Well I just left you rather a long rambly comment in reply to your comment over at mine, so I wont ramble too much more over here.

Dead pleased (cos apparently Im a dead anarchist now, although its wierd being a DAD after being a MAM for so long) theyre having such a positive effect!

    Moooore hugs Daf xxx

    • Maaaaaaaaaaaate! ‘ello! :O)

Nah, what ya doing is saving time cos you want more arm wrestling and drinking time! I knows what you’re up to Missy!

Tablets Indeed are doing the trick which is: WINNING! Though I had a slight relapse on Wednesday, but things seem to be back to normal now. I’m hoping it stays that way!

Yup, you be a DAD now, not to worry, you wont be given the bagage normal DA’s are given, you’re a sleeper member and will only be required to stand in local councils, puddles and occasionaly raid the Norwegian coast.

Got to admit though, being a DAD is better than being a ‘Mother Against the Moon’, bit dated and mental really itsn’t it? haha

More hugs back at cha D.A. Daf! :O) xxxx

*Sniggering here* Aaaa you know me so well Phil, I am indeed racing towards the weekend with more beer and possibly arm wrestling (although when I go out tomorrow night I have to behave myself cos my mates bringing his new posh bird who Ive never met before. WEAK!)

Oh and while I have no problem at all raiding the Norwegian coast, I may have to amalgamate my agenda’s cos oooooooh that bloody moon *shakes fist at the sky* ;O)

Hope youre over your mid week hiccup anyway!

Huggskis, loveskis and a packet of fruity polos comin at ya (Im just in the mood for some and felt like sharing ;O) Daf xxx

        • Posh bird? So that basically means you have to STOP being tha Daf? What’s left if you can’t light your own farts, arm wrestle, body slam and tombstone random people, wave and rant at the moon, enlarge the EU, broker a peace deal in the middle east and not talk complete rubbish? Oh wait… being normal! Normal is: SUPA EPIC WEAK!
You do know the Norwegians and Moon men have been in cahoots for some time? The Norwegians have provided them with info on where all our bases are! Actually, I was told when they test fire their new moon ray they’re going to aim it at your place first and said: “Awww man, Daf’s a muppet, gonna sort ‘er owt first!” And that’s a true story! – no lies, spits or crosses!

The hiccup seems to be normalising now. I think it may have been the garden work on Monday, because I haven’t done anything/eaten anything I don’t usualy do/eat. Agian, I’m hoping it stays that way because I forgot what the urgancey and straining pains felt like!

Oh! Fruity Polos!!! WINNING!!!!!!! Not had them in yonks! I used to get a pack when I came out of swimming! They make my teeth hurt though! :O( Hugs with refresher bars and drum sticks comin at cha! They’re MUCH better than fruity polos so they’re: EPIC WINNING!!!! :O) haha xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    Hi Phil! 🙂

Miniplanet is on Facebook in the games section.

As a game it is well thought out, but is definitely a money making exercise!!!

Fukushima is going to take maybe a year to bring under control, the crap its pouring out is short lived low-level stuff so far and is more of a threat to the workers given they’ve extended the exclusion zone to 20 Klicks.

I made a sandwich using a knife I hadn’t washed properly – when I checked the blade there was a bit of jam on one side which would have been an excellent growth medium, so I guess that’s a lesson learned…

Talk Talk sent me a message to say my connections OK – which isn’t what I asked!!!

Hope you have a great week Phil – it’s looking good so far!!! 🙂

    God Bless!!!

    • A knife you hand’t washed properly? Really? I didn’t think a little bit of dried jam would have that effect on a person! I think it could be something else, but still the remedy is still the same, keep things clean!

Talk Talk support can be so damn annoying sometimes, especially when it’s an Idian on the other end of a crackling phone line! You should ring back and ask them again and say that’s not acceptable.

Thanks for the support as always, Ian. You have a good weekend, man! 🙂

I know the feeling Phil – my sleep pattern remains strange and getting up to the alarm is hard, but on the plus side the weight loss continues to improve! 🙂

Hope you get better soon my friend – you seem to be doing so well at the moment! 🙂

    God Bless!

    • Cheers Ian! 🙂

Yeh, the UC is under control, just with my sleeping pattern could rectify properly. I had 4 hours sleep last night and had to get up this morning at 5:45am! If I don’t I feel ill and sleeping pattern would stay wonkey. Here’s hoping it improves for us both soon.

Thanks for thesupport as always, Ian! 🙂
