Bog Roll IS The Cure!!!!!

Posted by DeadAnarchistPhil on March 16, 2020

Assuming you’ve not been punched unconscious in your Supermarket of choice over toilet roll, then you’ll notice masses of halfwits panic buying all manner of products, though mostly toilet roll. Funnily enough it’s the same people who were saying “I’m not worried about the Coronavirus” running out to eye-gouge anyone and everyone to buy a full pallet of toilet roll. Though now they’ll be all smug and saying…

Because toilet roll is somehow the most important thing! Even before people were panic buying food and hand wash, they were fighting over toilet roll! Does it have some kind of properties I’m not aware of?

Does these people know you can just have a shower with an old rag to clean yourself? Sounds gross, but when I first developed Ulcerative Colitis I ran out of the ole bog roll once or twice, and ended up having to use an old rag while showering. I just bleached it afterwards in boiling water for use next time (if needed). Needs must, it’s not the end of the world.

The stupidity of humanity really annoys me, now more than usual as the stockpiling of toilet roll, food and other items will obviously lead to fewer of those items for others. Especially the elderly, ill and housebound (that are most at risk) who can’t get out and so rely on supermarket deliveries (I noticed online when I ordered all the slots were taken up 5 days in advance, to put it into perspective it’s only usually 2). I have UC so I can’t get out as much as it is, but with the Coronavirus now I’m going to have to stay in for my own safety. I take medication that reduces my immune response, which means I get ill easily and it can last for weeks, with the Coronavirus I don’t know how bad it will affect me, that’s not even mentioning the other two illnesses I have.

And there’s many others in the same boat who are far worse than me, who are stuck in and will need those shopping deliveries and provisions, the ones these people are panic buying.

No one is saying don’t get a bit extra, I’ve been doing that since February, so has my family, but we did it in a way that didn’t take products out of other people’s baskets. As I was writing this I just received a shopping update, 10 items are out of stock… Stuff like bread, eggs and washing up liquid…

You people are cult of Andrex fucktards! The vast majority of you will just feel sick, it’s the elderly and ill that will suffer. The supermarkets will still be open as will the pharmacies, the world will not end!

I’m going to stop, this was meant to be a bit light-hearted, but I’ve wound myself up now, so I’m going to stop. Talking of being wound up I won’t be replying to the comments on my last blog. The topic just depresses me, so I’ll revisit it at a better time. So apologies to Daffy and Prenin for not replying.

All the best to everyone and take care of each other!

EDIT: I went off one earlier, not everyone’s an idiot, they’re just worried. But I stand by what I said, panic buying is not helpful.

I have no Country. I have no culture. I have no national identity. I have no history. It’s based on, or soaked in, the blood, pain and forced labour of others.

I (and my “people”) have – over the past two thousand years – invaded, plundered, raped, murdered, destroyed, colonised and subjugated the Countries and Peoples of Scotland,
Wales and Ireland as well as vast swaths of Africa, North America, Asia, Europe and many islands around the world.

I am the most destructive force on Earth – according to some – and I should be thoroughly ashamed of myself and my obvious intrinsic bigotry, advantage and sense of superiority.

And I did all this without the aid of a time machine, money or even leaving my shitty Council Estate.

“Conservatives Promise Reform of ‘Abused’ Judicial Review” And it Worries Me

Posted by DeadAnarchistPhil on December 9, 2019

There’s another general election on December 12th and the Conservative party are planning another reform of ‘Judicial Review‘ – the third time as a matter of fact. In their last three manifestos the Conservatives have promised reform as they say Judicial Review has been abused to interfere in politics.

For those who don’t know (or haven’t read the above link) a Judicial Review is “... a type of court proceeding in which a judge reviews the lawfulness of a decision or action made by a public body.” So basically holding the Government and other public bodies to account.

A  recent example of this was a judicial  review brought forward by Gina Miller against the Government’s Prorogation of Parliament, which she and others viewed as unlawful because it blocked MP’s from scrutinising the Conservative Government’s Brexit plans. Subsequently the UK high court agreed with Miller and Scotland’s Supreme Civil Court and found the Prorogation justiciable and unlawful. You can see other examples of judicial review in action here and here.

It would be intellectually dishonest of me to not mention there was more to the prorogation of Parliament other than the Boris Johnson-led executive trying to unlawfully evade Parliamentary scrutiny of his withdrawl bill.

While I disagree with the prorogation personally I see why it happened, it was a reaction to another undemocratic act – a collective one. That act was the majority of UK MP’s not respecting the vote of the UK electorate to leave the European Union in 2016. Many of those MPs have their own reasons for arguing against leaving, some say the electorate were mislead, lied to and didn’t know what they were voting for. I could argue against this but that’s a different blog and not want I want to talk about here. The fact is the majority voted to leave and were ignored, which is just as undemocratic to me as avoiding parliamentary scrutiny using unlawful prorogation.

Which brings me to section in the Conservative manifesto that concerns me… On page 48 they state:

After Brexit we also need to look at the broader aspects of our constitution: the relationship between the Government, Parliament and the courts; the functioning of the Royal Prerogative; the role of the House of Lords; and access to justice for ordinary people. The ability of our security services to defend us against terrorism and organised crime is critical. We will update the Human Rights Act and administrative law to
ensure that there is a proper balance between the rights of individuals, our vital national security and effective government. We will ensure that judicial review is available to protect the rights of the individuals against an overbearing state, while ensuring that
it is not abused to conduct politics by another means or to create needless
delays. In our first year we will set up a Constitution, Democracy & Rights Commission that will examine these issues in depth, and come up with proposals to restore trust in our institutions and in how our democracy operates.

There’s a few things in there we could unpick, but this piece worried me:

“… while ensuring that it is not abused to conduct politics by another means or to create needless delays.”

It’s all quite vague and ambiguous, most likely on purpose so candidates can make it mean what they want and because the Conservative party is quite divided right now.

Though to me, from what I’m reading, it seems they want to remove scrutiny and thus accountability. They have seen how they’ve been blocked in the past and do not want it to happen again. This isn’t accountability, it’s centralisation of power and the removal of the executive (PM and cabinet) from scrutiny.

The UK tripartite system of politics works when the Judiciary, Executive and Parliament are all independent and exercising restraint on each other. Removing the Executive from that unbalances the system and our democracy, giving the PM and Ministers free rule to do what they want.

The vast majority of judicial reviews that have been conducted have found that public bodies have over stepped their bounds, there has been no abuse of the system, just the perceived abuse Boris Johnson and his cabinet see. Or maybe they don’t see it, maybe they just see an opportunity? If they really cared about “… access to justice for ordinary people” then they’d reduced the £100,000 fee we currently have pay to start one.

Obviously we’re far from a dictatorship, but the precedent it sets is a very bad one. Once we start down that slippery slope it’s a long way back. The idea of doing something undemocratic in the name of Democracy is counterintuitive. However, call me a cynic if you like, I don’t think it’s about democracy or accountability, it’s about power and money.

“You can stop the far right today. #Vote Labour”

Posted by DeadAnarchistPhil on May 24, 2019

Watch the video.

So, according to Jeremy Corbyn – and one must assume the rest of the Labour party – anyone who voted for the Brexit Party is now part of the “Far right”?

Before I carry on let’s take a moment to look at what the far right actually is in the UK…

The National Front –

  • Only white people should be citizens
  • End non-white migration
  • Non-whites to be stripped of citizenship and deported
  • Racial separatism
  • Euroscepticism
  • Scientific racism

The British National Party

  • Only white people should be citizens
  • End non-white migration
  • Voluntary removal of non-whites by financial incentive
  • Scientific racism
  • Euroscepticism

I do not support any of the above, nor do my family and friends, and I will go out on a limb and say the vast majority of people who went out and voted in the elections for the European Parliament for the Brexit Party are also not any of the above. The only thing I and the millions of people who voted to leave the EU and in these recent elections have in common with those groups is EU scepticism. And even then, their Eurosceptcism is more aggressive and full conspiracy theories.

The above video is partly why the Labour Party are forecast to lose out in the European elections (the other being their indecisiveness on whether to fully commit to leave the EU) and why many traditional Labour voters are being alienated.

The Labour party’s insistence on labelling anyone who has legitimate concerns about immigration and the effect it has on jobs, wages, housing and the general infrastructure of the UK a “bigot”, is losing them votes and shooting themselves in the foot. They’ve been doing it for years and they continue to do it.

It’s the attitude and wording like the above that led to a Brexit supporting pensioner being ‘milk-shaked’. Though, in the interest of fairness, the rhetoric from the hardcore idiots from the Brexit side doesn’t help either.

I, and many other people, do not blame immigrants “for everything”, the issues are more nuanced than that; it’s the same with the vote to leave the EU. However I won’t go into that as that’s another topic to cover.

Who Am I And Why Am I Here?

Posted by DeadAnarchistPhil on January 2, 2014

No, this is not an existential philosophical question, I’m not going to bore you with what I learned from the Philosophy leg of my degree I completed last year! Questions like; are a pair of underwear that you cut the unwashable stains out of and then repaired, still the same pair or not (I know most of you have done this!)? Mind blowing, no? Nah, I’m going to bore you with something completely different! You lucky people you!

No, I’m taking part in the ‘Zero to Hero: 30 Days to a Better Blog‘ (All links in my posts open in a new page), to try to re-connect with the blogging world and re-evaluate why I’m actually doing this. So, you may get a blog a day for 30 days, or I may give up, or I’ll forget, be strapped for time, or I’ll be eaten by the flesh-eating Zombies and the road warrior Cannibals that inhabit the area where I live and so would not be able to fulfill my blogging obligations. Either way, you’re getting a blog thrown at you.

My name is Philip, and I have a few issues with the human race and a few with myself (No I’m not schizophrenic but that would be a great excuse for my questionable weirdness). Originally I started blogging in 2006 to vent my anger and frustration I saw in the human world around me, this mostly involved politics, religion and social issues. My aim at the time was to talk about issues the media and people in the UK generally found taboo or just wouldn’t touch because it was too much of a sensitive issue. Coming from a family where anything and everything was up for discussion or debate I believed, and still do believe, that the world outside my door should be no different. If we start placing limitations on what we can and can’t discuss or question because it may hurt someone’s feelings, then I believe we’re creating a society and a culture where we will be limiting our scientific, personal, mental and artistic advancement, which is not healthy for the individual or the human race as a whole.

I still advocate the above, anyone and everyone is welcome to comment on anything and everything! No holes barred! I knew this would offend some people and it did, in 2007 I had my Windows Live Space closed because of pictures I posted featuring cancerous growths on humans as part of a piece on the smoking and it’s being banned in the UK in public buildings. I gained it back after I said I would take the offending pictures down, which was laughable because the pictures that were flagged were nothing compared to some of the other things that used to grace that site. This was exactly what I was talking about earlier, we can’t look at the reality of smoking because someone gets offended, therefore we have to censor reality, which is not healthy.

Because of the censorship I looked elsewhere at different sites and they were all the same, they all had a Terms of Service and some group or moral squad (Or factional idiots) who policed them.

After a while of writing and debating with people (Which was fun, depressing and annoying all at the same time), I decided that my time may be better spent actually educating myself to try to actually achieve change in the world around me instead of pointing out the problems and ranting about them. Yes, I’m well aware that my actually bringing any change to the world around me is very remote, I’m more likely to be hit by a car driven by George Best’s drunken zombie (He’s a regular around where I live!) than actually bring political or social change at even the basic local level. However, this doesn’t mean I shouldn’t try! Although it upsets me I will not be able to change things in a big way and help people, at least I’m trying, which is all I can do.

I always knew, when writing my blogs and before that, that I had some huge gaps in my knowledge and understanding of the world and many things in it. So when I started my studies in 2011 I was prepared to be a little overwhelmed and frustrated. However, when I began and still now, I realize how little I actually know which then lead me to self-doubt. You think to yourself; “If I’m wrong about that, how do I know I’m not wrong about other things?” I had this thought before, but being forced to question everything you’re reading, analyzing it and looking at it from different angles, it makes you feel you aren’t intelligent enough to tackle issues in case you misinterpret or over look things.

That, along with studies and generally trying to manage my illnesses is why I haven’t been blogging as much as I should. It’s not that I don’t have anything to talk about, I just don’t always feel so capable of  doing it, not just because of self-doubt but there’s so much work involved and I have a tough time concentrating as it is.

What to expect from me? I’m hoping to do some more new blogs to discuss tough topics as well as carry on doing some slightly different ones about health, art, music, hobbies, general fun and many other things. Which is a change considering I started off with politics, religion and social issues. However, you will be upset and offended at some point, it’s inevitable in life (Like that one person on the bus who stinks and just happens to sit/stand next to you), and when that happens you can discuss what’s upset you rationally or you can be a big baby (Like David Miliband). Either way I reserve the right to ignore you, wind you up, tell you to fuck off or calmly debate with you like I do 99% of the time. I’m always respectful to people I meet in real life and on the net, you’re respect level from me is 100%, it’s up to you if it stays that way. Then again if you’re anything like me, which you most likely aren’t, you wont care about respect, unless it’s coming from the people who matter most in your life! However I still do it out of courtesy because I don’t know a person and can’t fully know a person on looks/image/writing alone. Though some people are so transparent and see-through that a good look or a five-minute conversation will render their respect level zero!

I can’t reply to every comment or blog post, whether mine or someone else’s, I have a life to live and sometimes I also forget (And procrastinate or find something better to do), but  I will try to reply, post and read everything. Remember, I’m only human!

I’m not sure who I’m hoping to meet while still doing this, I mean, I don’t search people out, I stumble upon them or them on me. I can be very unsociable and misanthropic on-line and in real life, but I’ve met some lovely, genuine people on the net while blogging, something I wasn’t planning on doing or happening, and I’m glad I met them! Some are very opposite me ideologically, geographically and socially, but we still get along fine. I’ve also met some right bastards on-line; disgusting examples of the human race! But I try to focus on the good people these days instead of bad so as not to remind myself that 90% of the world’s population are content to be ignorant when they possess the same ability to learn as all other humans!

I’m not sure what I want to accomplish if my blog is ‘successful’. I don’t care if it is or isn’t, if it wasn’t I’d write for the fun of it, if it was then it’s good. I suppose I just write because it’s an outlet and can be helpful to me.

Hope you all had a good New Year!

It’s All Going Swimmingly!

Posted by DeadAnarchistPhil on December 4, 2013

Hey all!

I know I’ve been absent, but I’ve had a valid reason! I’ve been busy with course work (Or trying to be busy with it) and also been exercising!

Yes, that’s right I’ve managed to do some exercise for the last 2 weeks and it’s going ok. I go swimming 3 times a week for an hour and it’s putting no pressure on my back! I was planning on doing some weights in the gym too (Weights on wires so it takes the emphasis off the back) but I haven’t gotten around to doing that yet.

Considering I haven’t been swimming since I was about 12 I did fine. The first time I tried it was a little difficult going but I stayed up. Having said that, I actually forgot how to float! Sounds stupid, yeh? But I couldn’t float lol. The second time I went though I’d learned how to do it, your body just natural wants to float.

I am now getting faster and my conditioning getting better so I only need three 3 to 4 minute breaks between every 15 mins of swimming. I wouldn’t stop during the 15 mins for a few seconds if I didn’t have to keep pulling up my shorts! lol One day there’s going to be a full moon in that pool and I’m going to get bollocked! haha. The faster I kicked my legs the faster the shorts come down so I’m not sure how fast I’m capable of going.

That’s besides the point though, I’m there to do some exercise, it doesn’t matter how fast I’m going as long as I’m doing it enough to burn the fat and lose weight. So far I’ve lost 3 pounds (That was last week) and I’m going to have a lost more this week! I’m aiming to lose a stone (6kg/14lbs) a month at first, then slow it down a little so I don’t make myself ill.

So I’ve changed my diet too, no more than 1700 calories a day and also my lifestyle, the only thing getting in the way of this keeping going is the back, sometimes with the back it can be a chore to get there and back. Also there’s the cost to consider in the long-term, though my Student Union card should bring that down!

Anyway hope everyone is doing good!

Another Romp Around The Middle-East?

Posted by DeadAnarchistPhil on August 26, 2013

So it’s looking more likely there’s going to be another romp around the middle-east, this time with Syria as the host for the party.

And as usual there’s the same replies from all sides of the political spectrum and the Muslim world.

The left says: “No! This is neo-colonialism!”

The right says: “Yes! We must do something for those poor people!”

Many Muslims of the world, as always, point fingers at Western powers, spout about western intervention before that caused the problem, but offers no solutions for the problem.

As always Russia and China, wanting to keep their influence in the area so they can carry on doing financial and political business, don’t want any action in the area whatsoever. Rather they believe both sides should carry on a dialogue, by ‘dialogue’ we can only assume they mean killing each other in assorted ways.

The fact is all sides only care because of their ideological sphere of influence. The left is nearly always anti-war, especially when it involves the U.S. or the UK being involved. The right will welcome a war because it puts money in pockets of military contractors (That is if the country can afford it. In the UK the public appetite and money for war is just not there. So if war does go ahead, expect the UK to play an air support role).

Russia and China only care because Syria is a sphere of interest for them, they really don’t care if the people of Syria die horribly, as long as they can be seen to be not endorsing it in public (staying neutral) while frustrating the western powers and doing business with the Syrian regime.

Of course Western powers will say: “Wont somebody think of the children!” This is a load of shite, the West, like Russia and China, only care when it matters to them. What matters to them is debatable. It could be:

1.       Making economic gain from the resources in the region
2.       Business making money from military contracts
3.       Stabilise Israel’s back yard as it’s an ally of the U.S. and the West in general
4.       Broaden the West’s sphere of influence
5.       The west has to act because it’s been challenged
6.       All of the above

Number 5 could be the reason to engage and accomplish 1 to 4. In fact, Barack Obama said there was a line to be crossed and it’s been crossed and now he can’t go back over it. With the use of chemical weapons supposedly being used by both sides and not knowing who did it, they may have to act, even if they do not wish to be involved. Add to this a sniper shooting at the UN inspection team, again we don’t know who did this, but it can be seen further as provocation to act for the Western powers.

As for the Muslims, they only care about Syria because they’re ‘Islamocentric’, that is, most are predisposed to care about the Muslim parts of the world because they are Muslim. If this was happening in Vietnam right now the Muslims of the world who are currently concerned about the situation in Syria would most likely not give one fuck, as they didn’t during the actual Vietnam war, and many other wars and situations where no Muslims were involved. In fact when Muslims are the ones doing the butchering the Muslims of the world pay little attention, dismiss or don’t care about that, the same when a Muslim leader butchers his people. Muslims didn’t give much of a fuck about Iraq or Afghanistan until the West went in there with their drones and bombs and started killing innocent people along with the Islamists. Then there was a rally against the west and condemnation, but the Taliban executing people and denying women rights was not worth campaigning against.

So, I believe not all of these groups legitimately really care about the people of Syria. They’re acting in their own interests, which disgusts me! Groups are playing international politics while people die! Just another a day on planet Earth, eh?

So what should be done to help the people of Syria? Well there is an international organisation called the United Nations that should step in and stop this from happening. But would you believe it, even in the UN the same groups of people play international politics, Leftist and Muslim nations banned together and back up Russia and China while the Western nations banned together and dominate the UN security council and push through what’s important to them.

Ultimately the people that matter in the conflict will be the ones who suffer no matter what action is taken, all this because the international community plays international politics and ideological games.

We need a war, a war to end all wars! Dispense with the scum with their ideologies who currently claim to represent the people of the world. It’s stupid I know, will washing everything away change much and could that even be accomplished?

As for a realistic plan for Syria, there isn’t one, if you invade with the best of intentions people will die, if you don’t get involved people will die, so whatever happens, the people will suffer. Such is Human nature and stupidity.

Do you have an idea for Syria, what should be done there?

Hello All!

Posted by DeadAnarchistPhil on December 10, 2011

Hey everyone!

I feel I owe you all an appology for not answering comments and not being around much lately. There’s been a lot going on since October and it’s left me either with no time or not wanting to do anything because I’m tired. So I’m sorry, I will reply to all your comments when things have normalised enough to interact with you to a proper degree. I don’t think it’s fair I fly on and fly off without interacting properly with you all or not visitng your pages.

Thank you to those who sent me Birthday wishes, I didn’t do much because of the above mentioned reasons. To those who didn’t, it’s all good, I know you all have more pressing things to do than wish me a happy birthday, so I understand.

Oh, I have a little good news, as you know I’ve been studying a lot recently for my Social Sciences modual. Well… I passed it! I didn’t get the mark I wanted but it was OK. I need to study more to get better marks, which is one of the reasons why I can’t come on as much. But yeah, am on mah way! lol

To tide you over untill next time here’s a manip from an up-and-coming blog I’ve almost prepaired:

It’s the ‘Ed-Mili-Band’. My sister was the inspiration for this manip, she came up with the name more or less and I did the manip. It’s the guys (and gals) from the Labour front bench lol. I think you should have fun with it, and caption it! haha

Anyway, I shall be back soon! Take care and much love!

Coalition Government Deprives Salford and Manchester Of £2bn Investement!

Posted by DeadAnarchistPhil on January 26, 2011

Today the Coalition Government shelved plans to invest £2 billion pounds in to Salford and Manchester, citing lack of funds and the fact it was a Labour plan they just couldn’t deliver on. Minster of State for Housing and Local government, Grant Shapps, said: “This plan just isn’t feasible, in fact it couldn’t have been carried out under the previous Government, unless they borrowed more money, which was out of the question then, and certainly out of the question now.”

Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, Eric Pickles, also said: “With the huge deficit we were left with, we just can’t afford these schemes anymore, these are hard times, and hard times call for hard decisions, which is one we have to take now. We are truly sorry for the people in those North West cities that suffer with the problems they do, but at the moment we just can’t help.”

Hazel Blears, leader of the Labour North West Group, said Salford and Manchester were: ” Paying the price for the coalition’s cruel cuts.” Miss Blears added: “It usually happens this way, first comes a Tory Government, then comes Tory cuts, then comes Salford and Manchester suffering under those cuts, while Councils and Cities of the South will see their budgets rise. It’s disgraceful!”

There has been fierce debate in recent weeks as to why the plans and funding have really be stopped. Some people have pointed to ITV TV Presenter Jeremy Kyle. Mr. Kyle, who is the presenter of the Jeremy Kyle show, the UK’s answer to Jerry Springer. Kyle’s show, which is filmed at the Manchester based Granada Studios, draws 75% of it’s on stage guests, 100% of it’s in house audience and 60% of the TV audience from Salford and Manchester.

Mr. Kyle said: “To say that my campaign, my small campaign, is completely responsible for the stopping of investment in to Salford and Manchester is absurd! I would like to think  it was souly responsible, but it just isn’t true.” When asked about his campaign to stop investment in to Salford and Manchester he had this to say: “Well, where will I be, where will my crew be, where will ITV be if Salford and Manchester are ‘depopulated’ as the MOD put it? I’d be out of a job, my crew would be.”

Ms. Blears said said Jermey Kyle and people like him, we’re being “selfish” and obstructing the regeneration of Salford and Manchester, purely for their own monetary benefit. She said: “Not letting the MOD proceed with the carpet bombing of Salford and Manchester (Operation: Kill The Lot) was outright wrong and denying the Cities a new Birth.” She continued: “Jeremy Kyle has the ear of the PM and deputy PM as they’re both big fans of his show, there’s also the fact the Tory party can’t bring itself to wreck a good private business like ITV. I ask you, what is better? A new Salford and Manchester or shareholders of ITV? I think you know which matters most

When asked about her insistence and urgency for Manchester and Salford to be wiped off the map she balked: “I assume you’re referring to that story in the Daily Mail? The one where I apparently want the area bombed quickly so I get my 12 thousand acres of virgin land? It’s all rubbish, I’m here for a new birth of Salford, and anyway, it was 12 hundred, not 12 thousand. And, why shouldn’t I have some? When the people from Oxford and the other Home counties are brought up to resettle the area I think it’s right there be someone local to ease them in to their transition here.”

The MOD said it was ready and willing when Westminster gave it the green light to lay waste to the “Scruffy little fuckers”. Untill then it’s Jets were ready and waiting.

The Population of Salford and Manchester were still not bothered about the proposed plans a full two years after they were announced. They seem completely oblivious to the huge 50 foot wall being built around the two cities by gleeful Liverpudlians and Anti-MUFC fans from all around the country. One Liverpudlian said: “”bout time they were wiped out init, la? We’ve had 50 odd years of bad jokes, Manchester United, Scallies and shit music, I’m glad the Government’s doin’ somert about it! Once the Liberal Democrats and Labour force a vote on the issue in Parliament the bombs will fall, and this wall will stop any of them escaping!” Loud cheers were heard all around the area of wall we were interviewing at.

The residents with any brains have long since left the two cities and settled elsewhere. It’s believed there’s only the lazy, stupid, Scallies, Chavs, Scrotes and non english speaking immigrants who don’t understand what’s going on. However, one fed up resident said he had a bit of bad luck and was stuck in Manchester because he couldn’t sell his house. The man, who only gave his name as “A bit fed up” said: “I’ve invested a lot of money in this house, and I’m not prepared to lose it! I tried to sell it but who of the people left in the City would buy a house? They’re all idiots!” Curiously 91% of the population still remains, which shows just what everyone was thinking all this time, that Salford and Manchester is full of idiots and wankers devoid of any sense. Except ‘A bit fed up’, who’s a bit unfortunate.

Ulcerative Colitis Diary: Week 1 on Prednisolone

Posted by DeadAnarchistPhil on January 25, 2011

                                                        WEEK 1

I say the UC Prof last week (Jan 12th 2011), he couldn’t give me the Prednisolone because he was going to be moving on from his job there. So I had to see my regular Doctor at the local surgery to get them. I went on Tuesday 18th of January 2011. I got my Flu vac before I saw the Doc, who I had an interesting and shocking chat with about the NHS, but that’s a subject for another blog. I’m going to need help from that vac while I’m on Prednisolone as it reduces the immune system response in my body. My immune system may be reduced, but I still have one and it needs all the help it can get.

Green = How well I feel 1 being the best and 10 being the worse.

Blue = Depression. Again, on a scale as above.

Medication, Direction and Course as follows:

Prednisolone : Take four 5mg Tablets daily for four weeks, then cut down to one tablet a day each week over the next four weeks.

Day 1 Tue 18th Jan 2011: I was already feeling bloated and uncomfortable on this day, so if taking the Prednisolone was to cause any problems I probably wouldn’t know. Anyway, took four 5mg Prednisolone tablets. No noticeable effects. (5/10) (5/10)

Day 2 Wed 19th Jan 2011: Haven’t been to the toilet properly yet, so I’m going to count that as an effect. I did go and did bleed, but not like I usually do. Felt down on and off, which is normal for me on any given day.  (5/10) (6/7)

Day 3 Thu 20th Jan 2011:  Not been to the toilet all day, but have felt bloated all day. I’ve been feeling depressed all day, more longer than usual. My obsessive mindset is more active. It’s making me feel more Nihilistic, isolated, angry and sad. I have a feeling these will be a constant throughout the course. Though I expected as much, just annoys the shit out of me, along with the rapid heartbeat! (6/10) (7/10)

Day 4 Fri Jan 21st 2011: Today I was on the toilet for over two hours, that was mostly due to not going every day like I usually do due to the UC. I must eat less so as not to feel so bloated and full. It’s hard to believe the amount I used to eat before I got UC, I can eat a lot now, but nowhere near like I used to. The only reason I put weight on is because I eat small portions of rubbish foods. Anyway, my mood hasn’t been that down today, been sort of level, I think when I do get in to a depressed state the Prednisolone makes it worse or prolongs it. So, Must try to stay positive! 😛 (5/10) (5/10)

Day 5 Sat Jan 21st 2011: Well, today, I was neutral when I woke up, and gradually become sort of happier, I was giggly and laughing. This happens now and again with my mood (not very often), so I don’t know if I can put this mood down to natural fluctuations or the Prednisolone. Anyway, I had some spicy tomato sauce with poppadoms, um, shouldn’t have done that! Sent me to the toilet, 5 or 6 times! I did bleed. I got sick of eating cheesy sauces, pasta and Chicken! Wont be eating the tom sauce again! (6/10) (3/10)

Day 6 Sun 22nd 2011: Feel low again today, not much to eat but muffins and spam, oh and Potatoes! Wonderful! I now hate spam! Potatoes are going to be next! Feeling a little ill since I ate the tomato sauce. Not much change so far.  (6/10) (6/10)

Day 7 Mon 23rd 2011: Woke up late today, 11:30am, not a good thing for me. I like to try and keep a routine, otherwise I end up sleeping 12 hours and waking up for 3 to 4 hours, then bed again. It isn’t good for my mood or my health. So I’m gonna try and fix that. When I got up this morning I went to the toilet, only twice though, which was a relief! I did bleed, but not much. So far the UC still seems to be the same and the only noticeable side effect is a rapid heart beat. (5/10)  (5/10)
